neowin[.]net/news/dev-explains-why-tiny11-windows-is-so-tiny-yet-secure-despite-no-tpm-secure-boot/
An extreme example of removing the bloat from Windows, Tiny11 even does away with the Windows\ WinSxS folder, with the limitation: "Tiny11 is not serviceable, but .NET, drivers and security definiton updates can still be installed from Windows Update." Per the article, it "works on systems with 2GB of RAM, and does not need Trusted Platform Module or Secure Boot", which also goes for the full Win11 install, providing you use one of the many hacks to bypass the hardware checks [I have Win11 running on a tablet with 2GB RAM & 32GB storage, because on that device Win11 runs better than Win10]. The Neowin article is incorrect when it states that Win11 takes up 20GB without any modifications... my Win11 VM, with no hacks & everything intact, plus Firefox, 7Zip, and InstallWatch Pro, fits on a Dynamically expanding VHD that, viewing Properties in File Explorer, takes up 9.9GB. [A dynamically expanding VHD starts small, and grows as needed. The file I reference has been compacted, which means all free space (storage not taken up by files) has been removed, giving a very accurate measurement of just how much space is required.]
Still, it might appeal to some folks -- just be prepared for a long download time as the server was Very slow when I checked.
