I think most people have at least read a headline or two about Deep Fakes -- using AI to edit video, for example putting someone's head on another person's body [for things like porn], or producing video of someone saying something they never said. AI Image Generation takes the text input you type and creates an image based on that. The results vary between cartoonish & photorealistic, and can often mimic the styles of artists. There's even a market for the phrases you can input. There is more than one AI source for this -- DALL-E is probably the safest, meaning it uses filters to try and prevent some of the more extreme, nasty things people use AI Image Generation for.
Now Microsoft is bringing DALL-E 2 to the masses, providing an interface that's hopefully much easier to use to get the results you're after, since DALL-E 2 input can get quite complex. It's reportedly available in the UK, but not yet in the US [at the time of posting].
