Typosquatting is when someone(s) uses a name for their site that looks Very much like the name for the legitimate site they're mimicking, e.g., the FAKE notepads-plus-plus[.]org, vs. the Real notepad-plus-plus.org. The hope is that if you're in a hurry &/or not paying attention you won't notice the extra "S".
A massive, malicious campaign is underway using over 200 typosquatting domains that impersonate twenty-seven brands to trick visitors into downloading various Windows and Android malware.
