   Today is Microsoft's October 2022 Patch Tuesday, and with it comes fixes for an actively exploited Windows vulnerability and a total of 84 flaws.

   Thirteen of the 84 vulnerabilities fixed in today's update are classified as 'Critical' as they allow privilege elevation, spoofing, or remote code execution, one of the most severe types of vulnerabilities.

   Microsoft held a Surface event this week, so the folks that write for Windows-related sites didn't have to go looking for something to write about. I suspect that's why I haven't seen the usual reports of problems with or caused by these updates, YET.

   It took a couple of weeks, but Microsoft confirms that after the update One Drive in Win10 may "unexpectedly close" or throw errors when signing out or unlinking your OneDrive account. No fix or workaround is available.

   Earlier this month they confirmed a Win11 issue effecting biz/corporate users, with SSL/TLS handshake failures that's now been fixed, and there was an issue if Windows had memory virtualization security turned on that's also been fixed... in that mode Windows whitelists drivers, but the whitelists themselves were not being updated when they were supposed to.
