I've seen this pop up on a few web sites...
Raymond Chen blogs that the music video for “Rhythm Nation” hit one of the resonant frequencies for certain then current 2.5" [laptop] hard disks, causing WinXP running on those drives to crash. One clue to figuring out what was happening was a laptop sitting next to the one playing the video also crashed. Of course it all makes perfect sense -- the fun part is imagining the techs trying to figure it out.
