These are a hefty download at 20GB, expiring Sept. 11,2022, and include:
Window 11 Enterprise (Evaluation)
Visual Studio 2022 with the UWP, .NET Desktop, Azure, and Windows App SDK for C# workloads enabled
Windows Subsystem for Linux enabled with Ubuntu installed
Developer mode enabled
Windows Terminal installed
VirtualBox setup is straightforward -- you just import the VM -- and since compressing a VHD file doesn't do much, other than make it internet download friendly, the final size should be about 20GB, same as the download. VirtualBox cannot [yet] emulate Win11's hardware requirements, so if you wanted to play with Win11 but not enough to hassle with workarounds to get it installed, this *might* be ideal. Once installed & running in a VM, everything's the same as if it were running in an environment that met hardware requirements, e.g., you do get updates etc.
VirtualBox is also easy to set up, & IMHO much easier to figure out & use than Microsoft's Hyper-V &/or VMWare. And on the whole is safer & probably less hassle than trying out Win11, seeing how well it worked with the software you use, by installing it on your PC or laptop.
