Windows Security is pre-installed and automatically enabled. Windows Security includes Microsoft Defender Antivirus software that protects your Windows device and data against viruses, ransomware, trojans, and other malware unless non-Microsoft Antivirus software is active.
Just out of beta, for now Defender for Individuals is only available to those subscribing to Microsoft Office, but with a 30 day trial, that may change in the future.
