In Windows 10, right clicking the Start Button brings up a menu with Apps and Features, Power Options etc... To add a shortcut to that menu there are 2 steps: 1) create or copy the shortcut to the WinX folder, & 2) run a command line app. The WinX folder we need is located at Users\ [UserName]\ AppData\ Local\ Microsoft\ Windows\ WinX\ Group3\ -- you can also get there by copy/pasting the following into the Run box [right click the Start Button & select Run]: %LocalAppdata%\Microsoft\Windows\WinX\Group3 . The app we need to run, hashlnk, can be downloaded here: github[.]com/riverar/hashlnk/blob/master/bin/hashlnk_0.2.0.0.zip . To run the app open the Command Prompt -- right click the Start Button, or if not there, it's in the Start Menu under Windows System, or search for CMD -- then type the [path to hashlnk]\hashlnk C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WinX\Group3\[YourShortcutName].lnk . The new shortcut should be visible after rebooting Windows or restarting Explorer in Task Mgr.
Note: you can rename an existing shortcut by right clicking it, selecting properties, then typing your desired text in the comment box on the shortcut tab.
Note2: it's not recommended to delete an existing shortcut -- move it out of the folder instead, & that way you can always move it back.
