Posting this just in case -- I doubt anyone uses Windows Backup, since 3rd party backup apps are so much better.

Microsoft included a disk image backup app with Win7, and they've continued to ship the Win7 app with Win8-11. One of the options is to create a rescue disc, CD or DVD, rather than a bootable USB stick. If you did that, and installed a Windows Update on or after Jan. 11, 2022, that disc will not start.

Windows Backup Is Broken Windows backup is broken. And it has been broken for years now. I don't understand why we keep using it. Every time I go to work on a computer, I find out they are still using Windows backup as their backup software. I hate Windows Backup. It was broken when it was first released and it has never been fixed. I would feel a lot more comfortable with the data on my computer being backed up if I were using something else. I hate Windows Backup. I should say that I have never had any problems with Windows Backup in all of the years I have been using it. It has always been the same. I have friends that work with computers who feel the same way about Windows Backup as I do.
