I've gotten several emails from Ashampoo across 3 or 4 email addresses advertising the new version for $10 for 3 seats. I've long been a fan of Snap since it's the only screen capture app *I'm aware of* that lets you choose the video codec used for capture. That lets you use the x264 VFW codec for example to capture 1080p video to AVC/H.264, producing a video stream that's compressed enough that it won't overwhelm a regular hard disk, and is fast enough to keep up, capturing the video without dropping frames.
The new Snap 14 appears to be written by someone else, however, with a different set of files than what's found in Snap12, the latest version I'd had installed, so you may want to try the trial version 1st.
