This optional update may well be worth installing, since it includes fixes for several problems that could cause Windows to crash. I've installed it on a couple of Win11 installs, and no problems *so far* from the update. And it does *seem* to have fixed a problem with one copy crashing to a black screen -- it was necessary to power off -> on to get Win11 back running. The file that was to blame, found in Event Viewer, was replaced by the update with a newer version.
There's a Win10 optional update out too, but most people can probably wait till next month's Update Tuesday -- the 2 main fixes are for Bluetooth & printing.
