   The only problems I've had so far is with a copy of Win10 in the Insider Beta Channel, that has been prone to refusing to update in the past. This time installation would proceed to 100%, then show that the update failed with a download problem. The obvious next step, running the already downloaded update didn't help. I wasn't going to say anything about it -- as I said, this copy of Win10 has been a bit trouble prone -- but apparently some folks are experiencing more severe problems.

   ... on Reddit (via WindowsLatest) user "m4ddan" noted that the patch affects gaming performance with frame drops, random stutter, and unreliable VSync.

   Other users have seen Blue Screen of Death (BSoD) errors, and others said that the update rendered the device unbootable. At the Microsoft Tech Community site, user Jauhar also complained about the update failing to install.

   Of course, Windows Update itself can act screwy... Normally if there are multiple updates, when one finishes, it will show the restart button if it requires a restart. The few times I've hit that restart button while other updates are ongoing, it has caused all sorts of problems. Had one copy of Win10 this week that would not proceed with the rest of the updates until I clicked the button and restarted. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

   I had multiple updates show up on one copy of Win10 -- just not all at once... days after installing the main April update, went to update the AMD graphics driver, and got the message I needed to restart so Windows Update could finish (?). Checking Windows Update, sure enough the .NET preview update had installed & needed a restart. And after restarting it showed another update needed a restart.

   FWIW, these are the updates I've seen this week, not all on the same copy of Win10.

   Windows Update Updates KB4023057

   Windows Central has another article out talking about how reports of problems are becoming more widespread.

   In the mean time I've had another copy of Win10 refuse the update. As usual it generated an error code, which proved useless while pointing out how some people need to improve, or perhaps just engage in Google skills... I have to wonder why there are so very many threads with essentially the same content (?). They all start with someone requesting help because they got this error when the update refused to install. And every one has the same replies, to follow Microsoft guidance using the troubleshooter, then DISM to check & restore Windows files, then reset Windows etc... And in Every case, after jumping through all these hoops, the problem's still there. If I read One of these conversations, & see that the proposed solution didn't work, I'm Not going to try that stuff myself -- Unless I find it worked at least once, forget it. When I see the same request & response over a dozen times, I have to wonder: didn't these people Google & see all these other, almost identical threads? And if they did, and asked hoping for a *working solution*, why in the world would they try a bunch of time consuming stuff that No One has found to work, ever?

   BTW, the working solution I use, and have found several times online, is to simply bite the bullet & wait. Win10 cumulative updates are cumulative, so whatever didn't get installed this time, will in a couple weeks when there's another cumulative update. Microsoft screwed up, there's nothing I can do about it, so why lose an afternoon [or more] messing with it?

   Hi all, concerning this problem with the KB5001330 update, I have to say that it was installed on the 16th of this month and so far I have not had any issues. In a resent YouTube post https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMG9X2dm4_Q by Britec09, he suggests that even if you haven't had a problem, to uninstall it and wait.

   Is this a good idea for me or just wait and see?

   Im on Win10Home 20H2 build 19042.928. also Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.551.0.

   Took a look at the video -- it's not bad at all -- & in the 1st part he says that even if you don't have any problems today, it's not a bad idea to uninstall the update in case you have problems later on & might forget by then that you installed it [and go nuts trying to figure out what's wrong]. I can see his point. OTOH KB5001330 included a bunch of security fixes:

   And, after every Patch Tuesday, cybercriminals take a good look to see how they can exploit those vulnerabilities [that just got fixed] on copies of Windows that did not get the updates. So I lean towards "Wait & See". Aside from some any profanity at things now broken, it won't take any longer & probably won't be any more hassle to uninstall the update later vs. today.

   Neowin has yet another article on the continuing complaints after the update, suggesting a troubleshooter from Microsoft that can be used to hide an update so that Win10 doesn't attempt to reinstall it. Windows Central [coincidentally ?] came out with an article on how to block updates without resorting to that troubleshooter or any other app.

   Thanks mikiem2 sorry I didn't reply sooner to your post. Since my post above I have not noticed any problems as yet so I am going to go with your suggestion of

   "Wait & See"

   Good News! Microsoft's fixing it for everyone, whether you've experienced problems or not -- in fact, they may have already fixed it for you, since you won't get any notice or warning, with the fix happening behind the scenes. Microsoft has been working for a while now on turning stuff like new features on & off, so they can for example send out several new features with the Patch Tuesday updates, but stagger turning them on, so that they can collect data on any problems, and turn them back off if need be. Well, Microsoft [hopefully] figured out what was causing problems, and is simply turning that part of the update off. There's a registry entry that you can check to see if that part of the update has been turned off, assuming that the article is accurate -- Neowin's going by something published on Bleeping Computer, that in turn relies on what a user reported... when I checked I had the new registry entry, so if they're correct, Microsoft already fixed it on this copy of Win10 without my knowledge.
