About a year ago, I got a new computer and finally upgraded to Windows 10. While adding my games (I keep all install procedures that are meaningful), I got mostly successes but a few failures. I also got failures from downloads (such as BigFishGames).
Today, the game of the day was Jane Lucky. That was one of my failures from MyPlayCity. I prefer getting the games from the site mentioned because it is more likely to be successful if a re-install is needed (GOTD meaning one day only). I could not get a new copy from MyPlayCity as they no longer have the game! I tried my old 2012 MPC copy again and it worked!
I found a free game code for BigFishGames and after getting my game there, I thought about the first of that series (ClearIt) that I got from GameTop and it was a failure. It was my ONLY failure from that series. I tried that again without even looking for an updated download. It worked as well!
I'm 2 for 2 today on games that failed to run properly after install early in the year but work now. I'm guess that something in an auto-update of a driver or an update to windows somewhere along the way has fixed the issues.
I did have some issues with Puzzles by Joe's Clutter series earlier this year that they would not have any sound unless you played them windowed. I prefer full-screen with HOGs. Joe and I worked an entire day with different settings on the issue. Again, several months later, the problem just disappeared!
So, a failure doesn't mean it will always fail -- be patient, it may work right later! How do you fix a problem that won't stay broken? In some cases, it's not broken - the break is elsewhere!
