Ableton Live sells for between $100 & $600 depending on included features -- the reduced feature Lite version is normally bundled with hardware. You can use it for recording, music production, live performance, & as a DJ. Installing the software isn't terrible with modest adds to the registry, but it's Big. The download is just shy of 2GB, but after an auto update during install the app's folder, unusually located in C:\ ProgramData, holds ~3.6 GB -- you *may* be able to reduce that by downloading direct from Ableton, *possibly* avoiding the update download/install [once you log in or set up an account for Splice you get the free key you'll need to download from Ableton instead of Splice]. Folders are also added to Program Files\ Common Files, My Documents, Users\ [UserName]\ AppData\ Local & Roaming, with a driver for their Push in C:\Windows\ System32\ DriverStore\ FileRepository\.
