The newest update changed almost all my settings and I lost all my saved passwords. It's been a nightmare.

Ouch!
Hadn't heard or seen anything like that on our devices, but that hardly helps you - my deepest sympathies.
If you Google on "lost profile after update" or similar [w/out quotes] you'll get lots of hits -- *maybe* something there will help? Doing just a quick look, it seems Win10 creates and uses a temporary profile during the update, and is supposed to restore your profile afterwards, except sometimes it doesn't.
I was more worried about the 2nd Oct. update, which lists a ton of fixes. Today is the 3rd day I'm testing it on this copy of Win10 before I chance it anywhere else.

From what I've read, Microsoft is including parts that will make up the fall update [to 20H2] in the cumulative updates that we've been getting. The fall update itself will be a cumulative update that actually turns some of that already installed stuff on. I'm running an Insider copy of 20H2 on this PC, and it has not gone well -- I was excited when I updated that copy yesterday & it didn't crash!
