   Humble Bundle subreddit: The Future of the Subreddit

   Apparently Humble Bundle has been cracking down on people giving away keys on the internet and several accounts have been terminated, taking any unredeemed keys (and monthlies paid in advance) with them.

   Note: giving keys away to people you know is apparently okay according to their twitter post

   If the key being gifted was received through our Partner program, then they may give away this key as long as there is no cost to enter the said giveaway. While we welcome gifting keys to well-known friends, we cannot condone gifting away keys on open forums to strangers.

   Thanks for posting that. Personally I think once you've paid for the keys you should have the right to do with them what you will. That said, I have given away most of my spare keys.

   Here's what I posted on the Subreddit link you provided:

   I've purchased hundreds of Humble bundles ever since they started up 10 years ago and many of those bundles I already had most of the games already. Why should I not be able to give them away to friends or anyone else for that matter. I am seriously thinking of cancelling my humble subscriptions and black listing them if they continue in this vein.

   To be honest, I don't mind paying full price for my games (and I have done for the majority of the 12K+ games in my Steam, Origin, Ubisoft, Gamersgate and other accounts.; I can afford it. I've always purchased from the Humble site simply because of their charitable donations; but I may just as well donate the money directly to charity and buy the games from sources that I know will give more to the developer.

   Also; so what if the odd humble community member tries to exchange or sell off their spare keys; as far as I'm concerned once you've paid for your bundle the keys are yours to do with as you please. Good on them for using their noddles for making some extra cash; which they will probably plow right back into more bundles or other games.

   I don't agree with their position either. That said, it sounds like someone would be safe if they only gave away keys and didn't use the HB's gift link. Also, it sounds like someone else at Humble Bundle gave a less aggressive response than the one on Twitter that sounds like they are really going after ones they think are reselling or trading keys. I for one will play it safe though and limit my gifts for now else I end up getting banned too. It sounds like if they ban you and you successfully appeal it, you can still say goodbye to your classic subscription if you have one as they won't re-enable it- you can only sign up for the replacement "choice" subscription.
