   "Grand Theft Auto 4 was originally created for the Games For Windows Live platform," began the statement from Rockstar. "With Microsoft no longer supporting Games For Windows Live, it is no longer possible to generate the additional keys needed to continue selling the current version of the game."

   Of course not everyone is looking to buy GTA4, but it points out a problem for any other games similarly created for Games for Windows Live.

   I have loads of games with GfWL and others with Gamespy, some have been patched to work. Steam have created versions for some games e.g. Red Faction Guerilla and Microsoft Flight to name a few, but I'm still unable to play quite a few games linked to GfWL (and multiplayer parts of games that used Gamespy), which is very annoying.

   I actually prefer GTA IV to GTA V. My favorite bits are from the add-on that included a whole quest line following the hi's and lows of a motorcycle gang. It took me ages to get it to work after GfWL closed. As for Microsoft Flight. i bought all of the dlc for that game, but still haven't been able to access it since GfWL closed. I can play the base game, but none of the dlc will download via Steam.

   I just checked my inventory; which has over 400 duplicate games that i've either got for free for pre-ordering a particular game (Valve used to give a second copy regularly for pre-orders 10 years ago) or I've purchased them while on a significant discount during a sale, with a view to giving them to friends and family for birthdays, Christmas etc. and as suspected I have a GTA collection bundle that includes:
   Grand Theft Auto III
   Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
   Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
   Grand Theft Auto IV
   Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City - (This is a combined dlc for GTA IV; there are two episodes, one set in a gay bar and the other follows the exploits of a motorcycle gang; the latter is my favorite part of GTA IV)
