At 1st it seemed like Microsoft assigned the store's development to it's 4th or 5th string coders, though it did offer perks to anyone wanting to add apps to the store. Then it stopped the perks, eventually going so far as to antagonize existing contributors by making it harder to offer their apps & turn a profit. It stopped trying to push software developers to use the store's once required coding platform, that sandboxed apps installed from the store, and is now going to allow those apps to be installed bypassing the store entirely [previously you Had to install them via the store]. Now Microsoft is going to close two store offshoots, one for biz & one for education, and looks like it *might be* trying to figure out a strategy to remove the store from win10 -- their online store, where you can buy hardware, software, movies etc. is expected to continue.
