   I would like to set the color of the header of a window SEPARATE from the colors of the icons in start menu (both the tiles and the all apps list).

   Everything I can find says you can change the colors of the menu icons (default of blue) without setting the headers for the windows but if you change the windows, the start menu is changed as well.

   The blue for the start menu is acceptable. However, for years (ever since Vista), I've had a shaded graphite gray for the headers for the windows. I can't do that!

   You could also affect things such as the width of the scroll-bars and the size and colors of other parts (even if you weren't using Aero). All of that is GONE. Is there any way to do these customizations that were such a part of Windows before?

   Or, is this a case of Microsoft continuing to remove your control of your own environment?

   As you said ..Perfect timing... because I like frosted effect too..

   Pretty much every color setting is at Settings -> Personalization -> Colors, though you can also make some changes using Settings -> Ease of Access. Stardock has some apps that may interest you as well.

   The problem isn't so much the colors or even the "frosted glass" effect. The problem is that to change the top of the window ALSO changes the icons in the start menu (both sides). I wanted something where the window and menu areas were separate.

   That link MIGHT help but we would prefer not having to depend on 3rd party stuff within windows. Microsoft might change anything at any time and it stop working.

   I just went to play with a win10 VM -- the 2 boxes to show the accent color on the title bar & start menu/taskbar seem about it. The background color will always show around some start menu icons, while clicking the box makes the start menu background match the accent color. Likewise the titlebar will match the accent color when that box is checked, but unchecked the accent color only shows on some things or as a highlight. My impression from a quick look is that Winaero Tweaker only changes stuff that's already in Windows, rather than adding anything new -- it lets you control things that Microsoft has removed the controls for from Windows. BUT, I didn't see a great explanation of what the app is capable of in win10, so I don't know if it'll do what you want.
