I would like to execute a program BEFORE an install from GOTD, and then see what files, registery entries, etc actually got installed afterwards. I think I've seen people mentioning this previously, but I didn't take notes. I THOUGHT it was some aspect of Revo Uninstaller, but I've been through that program's help and either I just can't find it, or it's a different program. Basically, I'm trying to find out if extra spamware or adware gets installed with something. (I know it's not supposed to happen, but sometimes it DOES - and it's definitely a risk for non-GOTD programs, so it would be good for me to know anyway). Thanks!
Software that will tell you what got installed?

If you want to compare before/after snapshots of both the registry and file system then you can use RegShot (see here) or System Explorer. I think Mikiem has mentioned that RegShot doesn't work for Windows 10 systems. Note that file snapshots can take a long time.
You can also try two tools from NirSoft - RegistryChangesView and FolderChangesView. The first can create and compare before/after snapshots of the registry while the latter can export a file of all the file changes during installation (start it before the installation, stop it after) and it's much faster than generating two file system snapshots.

FWIW I added a post with links to the monitoring app I use in a VM. It should be possible I think to do the same sort of installation monitoring using Windows 10's Sandbox thing, but I've only tried using it once or twice with mixed results. Problem is the sandbox uses Hyper-V, which is incompatible with V/Box, so to use the sandbox I have to reboot into a base copy of win10 I have installed for backups & emergency use [like a rescue USB stick only without the limits and hassles], and so far I've been lazy & just not bothered.
