Came across something I didn’t know today – when you’re using an app to type text in Windows 10, e.g. Notepad, Word etc., that hot key combo will open a pop-up window where you can select Emoji, or the text versions, or symbols.
Windows 10 - Windows Key + “;” or “.” = Emoji

My W10 desktop does not update to 10 Fall Creators Update, so I use the on-screen keyboard in tablet mode instead.

My W10 desktop does not update to 10 Fall Creators Update
Ouch... If you're running the April 2018 version of win10, look for Microsoft to start pushing 1903 [the May 2019 version] to your PC in the somewhat near future. Under their new policy they were originally going to start forcing upgrades to that April 2018 version in June, but they reported last month that they were just building & training their AI to detect device compatibility. Microsoft will now tell you that a new version is available in Windows Update, but won't force it until the version you're using is 18 month's old. They haven't published [that I've seen reported anyway] how or if it'll work with earlier win10 versions, and of course since they haven't done it yet, no one knows how well [or if] their new update process is going to work.
