Makes sense I guess -- come next February there are going to be win7 users complaining, some maybe loudly, that their version of Windows is now *Unexpectedly* orphaned, no matter that win7's EOL has been published for years. Personally I don't think this sort of proactive self defense helps all that much -- if you've ever dealt with retail customers you know [probably pretty well] that there are people who will complain, knowing full well that they're wrong, &/or being dishonest.
Until then, news that Microsoft is going to show a warning notice in win7 -- you can opt to never see the message again once it pops up BTW -- is a great boon to writers & bloggers... cater to those folks whom for whatever reason hate win10, and you're sure to get high traffic with loads of interaction in the comments. So expect to see "How dare they" themed blogs & such, often bringing up memories of Microsoft's ill-fated attempts to nag win7 users to upgrade back when the upgrade was free. Nevermind that that was an entirely different animal...
Here there's no software installed to bypass or disable or otherwise annoy -- see the message once & set the option to never see it again [assuming Microsoft doesn't figure out it's useless & abandon the messages entirely].
