Hi Delenn, I hope your hubby recovers fully. He'll probably need opiate meds to keep the pain at bay. Fentanyl patches really help that sort of pain as does Oxycodone, (we call it the poor mans heroin here in the UK).
I can empathize with him as I had something similar after two motorcycle accidents, the first 30 years ago, the second 24 years ago. I cannot carry anything heavy in my left hand now because of the injuries. Something as simple as a part-full shopping bag leaves me in a lot of pain for days. Even hand writing a page long (A4) letter is uncomfortable) and cold/damp weather also leaves me aching in the area of the injuries.
The first injury to the clavicle was caused by a vehicle side swiping me while I was stationary astride my motorcycle while I was checking out an A to Z (I was working part-time for Pony Express as a motorcycle courier to pay for my masters degree). The van caught my shoulder really hard and fractured it. The impact sent me flying onto the side walk. The second involved my 900cc motorcycle landing on top of me after being forced onto the hard shoulder by another van driver as we were leaving the M6 motorway (the American equivalent of freeways)via Spaghetti Junction back in 1995. The driver changed his direction (where the off ramp split into two; one going to a place called Litchfield and one to Birmingham city center. I remember feeling him approaching me, so I had to bank my bike to avoid being hit by him, but I was then thrown into the air because the hard shoulder was edged by angled edging slabs, that launched me into the air. I can remember flying through the air astride my bike, then on impact, my head smashed into the steering column and I blacked out. Witnesses apparently pulled the motorcycle off the top of me. My helmet was split in two and I received four broken ribs a collar bone snapped and my scapula fractured (again), plus ripped tendons etc. My shoulder is aching just thinking about it. :(
Its always great to see your posts. Just do them when you have time. In the meantime I'll keep more of an eye open for any free games going. p.s. hope you are also okay. :)
