Using Windows 10's Task Scheduler isn't all that different than using previous versions in win7 or 8, so this still might be helpful if you're not on 10. One big reason to become at least familiar with Task Scheduler is that many apps, drivers, & services use it. That's not always something you want, e.g. an app starting with Windows, but since it doesn't start because of a shortcut in the Start Menu or entry in the registry, it can take a little more work, removing or editing the task, to stop that behavior.
