I just posted it in case you hadn't seen it yet, so no problem -- I was actually surprised I came across one you might not have seen. ;)Posted 5 years ago # -
I was busy sorting out kickstarter last night, so didn't see the shareware notice that let me know about the uPlay deal until late morning. I used to back games via Kickstarter and another crowd funding project every week between 2012 to 2016. Of the hundreds that I've backed about 20% have come to nought; some of which I payed upwards of $40 for, so its been a little disappointing. I spent most of this morning and late last night writing emails to all the developers that have still not released games. Some of those had their games successfully backed on Kickstarter as far back as 2012.
Of those I know of several that turned out to be one man operations, that just cut and run once their Kickstarter pledges were handed over. Of the emails I sent last night, I've surprisingly just received a Steam key for one of the games I backed back in 2015 (called Perception), that I should have received a Steam key May 2017 (though the original promised date was June 2016). I was surprised to get the key so quickly.
Still not heard from any of the other developers, but I'm hoping.

Well, I think we can try to follow our better natures, which means some risk. We can wind up trusting someone(s) who, sadly, betray that trust. I like to think that even though we might lose some sprints, trusting in others, in the end we'll win the marathon.
Besides, following the opposite path, never trusting, always going for the win in a win/lose situation, as opposed to win/win, we lose something more valuable than any win could ever give us.
Or put more simply, we're glad that you're you. :)
