Maybe that how-to will help some folks? I know from personal experience that older printers and win10 may really not want to mix, at all.
I've had lots of problems getting & keeping my old Brother printer working with win10. Some of those problems are likely incurable, for example, after a recent Edge update, printing a multi-page PDF file from the Edge browser seems to take forever -- my work-a-round was to just set Opera as the default for PDFs. Some of my problems were [are] caused by USB incompatibilities [it won't work with USB 2.0 ?!]. And one problem, that a few weeks ago mysteriously cured itself, made no sense -- I could start the printer status monitor, & it worked fine, but it would not start with Windows.
