Thanks for posting. A nice trilogy from the 90's. It's similar to the first couple of Elder Scrolls games Arena and Daggerfall. Excellent dungeon crawler RPG. Don't let the 1991 graphic put you off; this is an excellent game. Once you get over the ancient pixelated graphics, the depth of this game, much like many of the early RPG's such as Planescape Torment, Baldur's Gate and Darkland is very addictive.

I highly recommend all three of these excellent games (though I've only played the first Escapists, game play is basically the same, with the second having improved grapics. Each one totally different from the other.
I bought Killing Floor 2 on release, but actually didn't really like it at the time. I and a couple of online friends had rented a Killing Floor 1 server and had been enjoying the myriad custom made maps (literally hundreds to choose from) from the game. Until a few weeks ago we were still playing Killing Floor in preference to Killing Floor 2, but that's not because the first one was better than the first. On the contrary, until last week, I'd just thought it was harder and had fewer map choices (which it does). As for the graphics, there's a marked improvement with the second one and you can now play as a Zed in the survival mode, playing against another team, each team getting a go at both roles before the match ends. When we first dipped into the second game, we continually got trounced every time we played; partly because we were not used to the changes (for example there is no longer a shop keeper who sells you new weapons, ammo, grenades and armour at the end of each wave. Now you have a vending machine, which I personally didn't like (it kept confusing me and I always seemed to run out of time before I'd managed to figure out how to buy new weapons or repair my armour). Secondly, the last time we played we were on the last round and it looked like we were finally going to win a full game, when the final boss spawned in the same room as a group of us. Everyone legged it out of the room except for me because the person in front of me (a total stranger who had joined our game) immediately closed the exit door and sealed me in the room with the boss; so inevitably I died within seconds.
For some reason, what we perceived as a much harder game and that last action stopped me from playing the game until last week (yes I know it was stupid). I've been playing with a small group of friends weekly; (all who've played with me for several years on and off) for over a year now and we have been looking for more cooperative games that we can all play together. Until a few week ago only two of us had the game, but I found a Steam key in one of the Humble Bundles I'd bought some years ago but had not passed on so I gave that to one of the guys and was hoping to find another key as I've been sifting through various bundles I've had for years, when last week saw that this week Killing Floor 2 was going to be given away. ''Fantastic'' I thought, we'll now have another game to play; however, even though Killing Floor 2 isn't a Valve game it is tied to the Steam client whereupon players can invite each other directly from the main menu. That doesn't preclude those with non Steam versions from playing, but it makes it a little difficult because the only way they can join is via the server lists; (this is an assumption as I've not installed the Epic version yet, so don't know whether the Steam link for joining Steam friends is included in the Epic version)? That may not seem too drastic, but considering that there are over 2500 servers at any one time (before filtering), it could take some time to find the server we (the Steam group) joined for the non Steam player. Thankfully I set up a second Steam account when I thought my kids were old enough to play online and created it so that when they had friends over for the night they could play co-op games together. Most of their friends didn't have gaming parents and no one had Steam accounts apart from both my children. So I ended up using one of the Killing Floor 2 keys I used to have spare on my spare account. I've now family shared that particular account with the friend who only has the Epic Games version of Killing Floor 2; so, problem solved. :)
While checking to see how easy it was to join a server with friends I happened to play several rounds on my own and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, which totally blanked my bad memories of the game from four years ago. So, if you like Zombie Shooters, get this game, it's a blast.

In KILLING FLOOR 2, players descend into continental Europe where the outbreak caused by Horzine Biotech’s failed experiment has quickly spread and gained unstoppable momentum, essentially paralyzing the European Union— Just one month after the events in the original KILLING FLOOR, the specimen clones are everywhere and civilization is in disarray; communications have failed, governments have collapsed, and military forces have been systematically eradicated. The people of Europe know survival and self-preservation too well and lucky survivors have gone into hiding.
Not all have given up hope though... A group of civilians and mercenaries have banded together to combat the outbreak and established privately funded operation bases across Europe. Upon tracking specimen clone outbreaks, players will descend into zed-laden hot zones and exterminate them.

• Terrifying Zeds - New enemies and fan favorites from the original game are back with expanded and smarter artificial intelligence, dishing out powerful attacks, working as a group to weaken the player’s party and pushing the challenge level and fear factor to new levels

While seeking life on a distant planet, an astronaut discovers an abandoned Russian town. Craft your Escape!
Being in prison forces you to be creative and work with the limited tools at your disposal. Steal forks from the cafeteria to chip a tunnel in your room, and craft a poster from magazines and duct tape to hide the evidence. You’ll soon learn that duct tape solves (almost) everything!
Prepare for a fight!
The Escapists 2 introduces a brand new combat system to make every prison brawl more exciting and interactive. You’ll have to block and tie together chains of attacks whilst strafing around your locked on targets to gain the upper hand in combat. Make sure your visit the gym first to build up those muscles!

As the prisons get tougher you’re going to have to get more creative with your escape plans. There’s a ton of options to tackle almost any prison escape.
Construct a clink!
With the Prison Map Editor, it’s your turn to construct a prison worthy of housing the toughest inmates! It includes all the rooms, fences and guard dogs you need to build a prison that’s as hard as your imagination makes it – no duct-tape required.
You can pick up those prison blueprints and start crafting your own creations through the Custom Prisons option on the main menu, and when you’re ready you can show the world by sharing them through Steam Workshop where you can download subscribe to fellow architects’ lock-ups – all custom maps can be played either solo or in both local and online multiplayer!

I can't believe Epic Games are giving it away for the first 24 hours. I was hoping to see this on Steam, but becasue epic Games have paid the developer for an exclusive for the next 12 months, it won't be release don Steam until august 2021.
Still, as it's free today, I will be getting the Epic version as I do love the Total War franchise. I have most of the franchise apart from the last two releases (Total War Warhammer 2 and Three Kingdoms) as I still have to play out earlier versions, plus I'm waiting for decent discounts on both titles.
