Districts and Policies
Be more than just an administrator from city hall. Designating parts of your city as a district results in the application of policies which results in you rising to the status of Mayor for your own city.The only negative I have against this game is the amount of DLC that is available. Since the financial crisis of 2008 when many small and some big name developer houses went bankrupt and the price of games fell though the roof (e.g. arcade games pre 2008 cost $10.99, post 2008 they cost around $6. AAA games like Cities: Skylines have over the last 30 years come down in price significantly which is why DLC content has become so prevalent. Games are being released as bare bones games, with additional content costing a lot more. Still, todays offering is a decent city builder, but it does lack a certain sparkle that can only be attained by purchasing some of the large number of DLC's available for this game. Still for free the base game is excellent. There are a few free DLC's such as Match Day and Pearls from the East, but the rest will cost around $250 when not on sale.
