Still no word on the fall update, v.1809. There's another bug, again reported before its failed release, where if you copy files from a .zip archive that's open in Windows Explorer, if files of the same name exist at the destination, you're not given the warning dialog to choose whether you want to overwrite or not. Some journalists thought 1809 would be pushed out Friday, but no. There was a cumulative update for older versions of Windows 10 Wed., Oct 24, but 1809 did not receive any updates.
That all said, the name of the update is 1809, meaning September, 2018, and Microsoft was already behind when they initially pushed it out in a bit of a rush earlier in October, without testing in the Insider preview ring. The plan for general release on October's Update Tuesday might have been set at least in part to save face. Microsoft may feel pressure to release win10 v.1809 next week in a rush to make it before the end of October, or not. If they do feel that they have push it out this last week in October, I'd expect they'll be a bit more aggressive than usual, pushing it out to more devices with less warning than usual.
