I take a frequent look at certain free or cut-price game sites (Toomky, Gametop, Bundles - that has now gone to be Fanatical) and it seems that most of the games that are now available tend to be Time Management. A year or two back there were a lot oF HOGs, HOPAs etc and I found myself wondering whether these have been taken over by the TM games. Personally I'm a great fan of HOPAs particularly and don't really enjoy TMs so I thought I'd enquire whether anyone else has noticed this apparent trend or is it just my imagination!
Have HOGs gone out of fashion?

I know what you mean. I've never been into Time Management.
However, I have so many HOGs (564 at last count) and some have never been done. I see them listed on the sites I follow (GameTop, MyPlayCity, and MyRealGames) and most that are listed as "new" on one of the sites are ones I've already got from one of the other sites.
The only "new" HOGs that I've seen lately are actually "unhidden" games -- Clutter by PuzzlesByJoe and are available at BigFishGames. There are 7 in the series and I think only the first one doesn't have a "relaxed" mode. If you've not tried Clutter, ignore "Leon" in the first 2 games. He's not real and is supposed to be a joke. Some people took him WAY too serious and he is annoying. Joe expects to have 10 in the series eventually and 8 is supposed to be out soon. I'm looking for them. I love them but not the mini-games as much. You can ignore the story line and they're not "hidden" in places where they don't belong. They're just overlapping each other.
Gametop does have a few of the same type but are by someone else.
Gametop will no longer let you download if you have an ad-blocker running. There is no "download" button. Also, I couldn't find a "search" option for either GameTop or MyPlayCity recently. They're not being very friendly.
I quit using Toomky when I started having problems with them trying to download everything and it's brother without your permission.
What's a "HOPA"?

"Memorabilia: Mia's Mysterious Memory Machine" seems similar to Clutter. Oddly, I have them both on a computer I can't access right now but I've never compared them. I do think that I preferred Memorabilia although it's been a long time since I played either of them. It's also available at BigFishGames.
HOPA seems to be Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure which seems to take in most HOGs I've ever seen. However, I rarely play HOGs so I've never tried to separate genres. I guess in HOGs, I enjoy early Mystery Case Files, the Gourmania series and (my favourite!) Gardenscapes.

My favourite in the Clutter series so far is Clutter 3 - "the Void". It's one of my go-to games when I've got a few minutes just to chill out.
I've been checking through my folder of "played games" and have loads. I've been playing some of the Little Shop series for the first time for several years and thoroughly enjoyed them again! I'll have to revive Mortimer Beckett next...
