The sequel to 2013's critically acclaimed horror game, Outlast, is now available and follows a story set in the same universe as the original. The Red Barrels-developed game was initially slated for a 2016 release, but was later pushed to Q1 2017, followed by its last delay to April.Outlast 2's gameplay mechanics are pretty much identical to the original, where players are only equipped with a night vision camcorder to find their way around. However, using its night vision option drains the batteries quite quickly, so players must keep their eyes open for any extra batteries laying around, while avoiding all the ghastly enemies present in the game.
There was also controversy surrounding Outlast 2 in Austrailia last month, with reports confirming that the game has been banned in the country prior to its release due to depictions of implied sexual violence.
However, this turned out to be a mix-up by the developer, which had submitted the wrong gameplay footage for review to the Australian Classification Board. The game has since been re-approved for release in Austrailia.
