What concerns [concerned] me was that if AMD, Intel, & Nvidia all made changes for compatibility with Windows 10 1703, then somewhere down the line those changes might be absolutely necessary, e.g. for future critical security updates to complete.
While our PCs & such have been OK [so far at least], my cheapy Windows tablet has given me fits with 10 now & then, & it's forced me to notice stuff. Microsoft has been changing how parts of 10 work internally, and their updates do more than just the bullet points they publish.
When it comes to graphics drivers on my tablet, Windows 8.1 drivers work fine with 1703, but newer versions, specifically designed for previous versions of 10, suddenly do not. Hopefully not too many people have that experience, but it illustrates the potential for the sort of problems that get people pulling their hair out, if not tossing their device in the trash.
So again, I'm glad you got the updated drivers. :)
