   Since yesterday I try to download the GiveAwayoftheDay.
   If I click on the link to WinXDVD I got on the page

   https://de.giveawayoftheday.com/winx-dvd-copy-pro-3/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+GiveawayOfTheDayInGerman+%28Giveaway+of+the+Day+in+German%29

   THere is a link "Jetzt herunterladen".
   If I click on that a window pops up with the title "Teilen und herunterladen", what recommends to go on with a facebook account.
   I have no such one so I prceed using the click on "Alternativ könnt ihr einen persönlichen Download-Link per Email erhalten."
   Then the windows shows up a field to put in my email adress. I do so and click on "Link". Nothing happens and I get NOTHING on my email adress.
   This link leads to the adress:

   If I go to this adress I get on the same site again.
   I tried it with the Browser SeaMonkey and also with the actual FireFox with no better result.
   Please has someone an idea whats going wrong.

   I am having a similar problem. Win7Pro system. I tried several browsers same result. When I asked for the email choice and click on it to send email nothing happens. I then tried the Facebook option and I get the zip file but when I run setup it never asks me where to install the program and then just says it was activated without actually installing it. I can not find the program anywhere on the system.

   I'd try downloading the trial version and then visiting the license page in the next 15 days to register it. Digiarty is running a Christmas sale and the license giveaway is part of it. Hopefully that will provide a satisfactory solution.

   As for the specific problems encountered:
   dr_mabuse: it sounds like the GOTD email server didn't like your email address. I suspect that they use a Gmail system and it has problems with some email providers and they probably also tend to reject various anonymous providers since the purpose of Facebook, Twitter, and the email link is to collect user-definable data. You might look into another free provider or create another account with you existing provider to see if it helps.

   GraphicFunn: the installation routine aborted either because your security software blocked the installation of the program (most likely) or you didn't have sufficient account permissions to install it. You always get the "successful activation page", whether it's successful or not, since GOTD doesn't monitor what actually happens. The activation page is simply the last step in the process.

   Thanks Chris. I doubt that the software would not like a paid AOL email address but I guess I can try setting up a gmail or other free address. As far as security software I just use AVG and I only have the one admin user. Is there any way to find out a way to get it to go ahead? It seems funny that the software would want me to disable virus protection unless it wants to do something which I doubt so there is something else going on.

   Actually, AVG does seem to have a problem with the wrapper that GOTD uses to limit installation to the "day" of the Giveaway. It's a false positive that AVG must surely be aware of but, for some reason, has declined to resolve. I'd try disabling it only for the time required to unzip the download file and to install the program from unzipped location. You might be able to find something in the AVG logs but the wrapper is intended to prevent any installation information from escaping so the lack of a log won't really tell you anything.

   If disabling it works then you can try setting an exclusion for the directory and AVG should ignore the issue in the future. Note, however, that you'd want to only unzip GOTD programs to that directory since the GOTD files are scanned for viruses and malware before being made available and files from other sites might not be.
