Chrome emergency update?

I got a popup on my desktop screen saying there was an urgent download for Chrome that I needed to download immediately. It had the Chrome logo but it made me very suspicious so I ignored it. I've been trying to call Chrome but keep getting a busy signal. Does anyone know anything about this?

I don't know about the one you're seeing but, in the past, those "emergency update notices" were malware/adware related. Scanning with "Malwarebytes" should remove the problem.

I got through to Chrome today and they confirmed it wasn't from them. I'm glad I ignored it as it didn't feel right.
