Tried it in win7 today, & works there too. :)
I hardly ever have had a reason to change the ownership of files/folders in 7, & when I did it's always been straight forward enough to go through the regular dialogs, but 10 (!)... To me the dialogs are less clear so more confusing, & it seems I have to go in & make changes, hit OK, go back in & make more changes, OK that, then maybe go in a 3rd & sometimes a 4th time.
The two worst cases I come across are both after upgrading to a new build, where you've got the old copy of Windows + any software that didn't make the migration in c:\Windows.old. If one [or more] of the Windows Store apps doesn't make the transition, you've got the old WindowsApps folder, where you're not even allowed to see the contents, let alone delete it. That one is a PITA to get rid of.
The other one is more a hassle because I don't have the same eyes I did when I was 10 years old [it only happens on my tablet]. There I get driver folders that can't be deleted because they're somehow in use. I have to take ownership, then rename them to something super simple, like "1", "2" etc., then boot to the Macrium Reflect USB stick, go to the DOS prompt, & get rid of stuff using the command line. The teeny tiny characters make it near impossible to tell if you're looking at a lower case "e" or a "c" etc.
