Just downloaded and installed this GOTD. When I click on it, the splash screen comes up for a second and then goes away. Nothing happens after that. I've noticed in Task Manager that it shows up briefly in Applications then disappears.
I uninstalled and re-downloaded the program and re-installed it but with the same outcome.
I run Win7 Ultimate 64 bit.
Any ideas what I can do to get this program working?

If you haven't solved the issue I'd try two things:
(a) Open Event Viewer and see if you have any errors coinciding with the attempted running of the program. If you do, then they should point toward a resolution of the problem.
(b) Temporarily disable your security software and reinstall the program. Note - the first comment on the giveaway page now says that the program includes "relevant knowledge" which might be considered a PUP by your security software (and by you as well).

Thanks ChrisS for the help.
I found nothing of note in Event Viewer and I tried installing the software while in SafeMode and it still installed but would not open. So I guess its just not going to work on my system.Posted 8 years ago # -
... I tried installing the software while in SafeMode and it still installed but would not open.
If you see a folder named C:\ Program Files [or Program Files (x86)]\ SuperEZ Wave Editor Pro, with 24 files in it, then it installed -- if that's not there then you're getting the message from the GOTD wrapper, which shows that message window when the app's setup program closes.
Sometimes security software prevents that separate setup app [that belongs to the actual program you're installing] from running properly. In that case, once *that* 2ndary setup exits or closes, the GOTD wrapper thinks it's run its course, & shows you the success message. Normally when you boot into Safe Mode with networking it prevents security software from interfering.
If OTOH SuperEZ Wave Editor Pro did install, if those files are in the program's folder, and double clicking the app [SuperEZWaveEditorPro.exe] doesn't work, there's a chance that one or more of the NCT Active X files added are conflicting with other software you've got installed. I wrote more about this in a separate post. If that is what's happening, check your other software to make sure it hasn't been broken.

If it helps... Monitoring the GOTD install, setup didn't show any optional software, but the update the software downloaded did have an opt-in that you could [should] deny. I did a search after opening the recorded .reg files in Notepad, & RelevantKnowledge was not found -- allegedly that's one of the registry entries added [securitystronghold[.]com/gates/relevantknowledge.html], but I didn't search on every value listed.

Thanks mikiem2 for the info.
Even though all the files were installed, it will not run whether installed in Safemode or not and if it is conflicting with other software, there is no indication which so I don't think it is worth all the trouble...moving forward.
My guess is this software is not coded well and thus the strange installation but not really able to run.
Thanks for trying to help.Posted 8 years ago # -

I'd suggest just making a quick mental [or physical] note to remember that app installs those NCT Active X files, then as you've said move on or forward.
Then if you never have a problem, great, no harm done, but if something does surface in the future, remembering those files might save you hours worth of troubleshooting.

I appreciate the help but since I don't know what NCT Active X files are nor what software installs them plus I can't find any on my system, I just think this is more trouble then its worth for this program.
I found WavePad Sound Editor and installed it with no issues. Although I haven't really tried it yet, it seems to have the functions I need so am satisfied with it.
Again, thanks to you and ChrisS for the advice and help.Posted 8 years ago #
