Earlier today saw the comments on the download page that it ran slowly or not at all for some folks. I had guessed that *maybe* this was one of those games that needed a separate install of Direct X 9 -- newer versions of Windows didn't/don't come with it. So I downloaded the web installer for DX9 from Microsoft, finished up the win10 Insider build update I had started yesterday in a V/Box VM [14267], & gave the game a whirl. I haven't installed DX9 yet in the copy of 10 on my wife's PC, & wanted to see if maybe today was that day.
And actually the game seemed to run fine in the 10 pro 64 VM as-is. Didn't make any compatibility settings, didn't install DX9 or run as admin or anything. Then I read your post, Terri.
I'm not doubting those that had problems... V/Box doesn't emulate the latest hardware from Intel -- it's quite possible that newer, more capable versions of Intel CPU with GPU have incompatible drivers &/or implement DX in a way that just isn't compatible.
