Desktop Enhancements

I used to use Konfabulator, but by the time I got all the widgets I wanted it took up too much RAM, so I ended up killing it.
I love the idea of desktop enhancements. I'd like to get a spare computer which just runs widgets, but right now I don't have the computer or the space on my desk to do that.
