I know there has been a lot of controversy and discussion on if the latter two games of this series up to this point (3 and 4) are really the same game. To me, they are! They have additional modes but the basic tiles, colors and totems remain the same.
Today I got an email from Legacy Games for a new game of the series -- 5! It's like the others -- the same and yet not the same. It's got the same totems, tiles and jewels but you also have to find things like gold and potions and other things. You can earn keys for extra jewels and there's a "slot machine" game to get more jewels so you can buy more power ups.
I think one of the major differences is that not all levels are geared toward a count of jewels. Also, even those that do, increment in other than 5 jewels and some actually go down in the number of jewels required.
I find it intriguing as well as a lot of fun. On top of it all, it's on sale!
The email lists it at Legacy games for $2.95 until Christmas. I googled to see if it was anyplace else and the only other place I found it was GameHouse for $9.99. What's extra nice about Legacy is that, although you do need a log in of an email address and password, you don't have to give them any financial information. They accept both PayPal and Amazon Payments! I paid through my Amazon account (obviously a new competitor to PayPal) and was very happy with the transaction.
What did surprise me was that this game was NOT found on Alawar. Alawar listed 2 and 3 only. I know they long ago retired the first game but where is 4 and now 5?
Just wanted to give you a heads up for the sale and a great match-3 game.
My husband is not happy with the noise but I managed to get over 7,000,000 points on one level and that got me to the Gold for the Achievement of "Final Result". I needed 1 million for Silver and 2 million for Gold so I just blew past those numbers. I know, it's a lot of luck. All match 3 games have a fair amount of luck of getting just the right tiles at just the right time but it's fun to watch the cascading when you do get lucky.
Happy Holidays and I hope this helps with the "happy" part!
Note -- I'm not including the link to Legacy Games because a hyperlink seems to be part of what gets some threads/posts caught in the spam checker.
