   I have had some trouble with registration keys for Giveaways lately. The procedure is often different depending on the software provider and often one is not sure if the reg code has been accepted. It would be a help if all software registrations were followed by a "successful registration" message.

   Today (19th Dec 2008), however, I tried to register Show.Kit 2.0 as Giveawayoftheday but was told after downloading it the the reg key/code was no longer valid and I should buy a licence whereas the Giveawayoftheday site told me I had over 10 hours to register the software. I would like to know whether this software is really free to download today or has someone screwed up or is an attempt being made by the manufacturer to con users into buying Show.Kit?

   Hi theodossian,

   Rest assured that the offer is genuine. Today’s offer did have problems initially, but these have been resolved. If you keep getting a message saying that the giveaway period has ended, check the date and time on your computer clock. If it's set wrong it could cause that problem.

   I've been coming to the giveaway project since November 2006 and have hardly ever had any problems registering software apart from when there has been a problem, which has always (apart from once when no one got a code after giving up their Emails) been resolved. I don't know of any where else that you can get such a variety of freeware for free without having lots of advertising bothering you.

   I hope you sort things out.
