This received a positive 61% of 472 votes the first time it was given away back in January of this year, and is very similar to a game we received here a few weeks ago called I love Puppies (apart from the characters and some slight changes to some of the games).

This is a whopping 253Mb download that installs to 414Mb, so it may be a big problem for dial up users.

In I Love Kittens! all cat lovers can help precious kittens who need love and affection to be playful and happy. Just like a good mother cat, you can also teach them lessons they need to learn with fun and exciting kitten training programs.

This is definitely aimed at children (IMO), and therefore if you have children especially girls, this is a must have though I’m sure the boys will like it as well). I do think that it will require adult supervision though especially initially because there are a lot of instructions give throughout the game.
Once you have activated a user (by inputting your name) whenever you return to the game your name will be assigned to one of the four cats that you can choose from; The main menu has four categories, Training, Care, Fun and Games and Treasure Chest. Apart from the treasure chest each section contains at least six or more games. I counted 22 distinctly different games. Each one presented in the same way, with an introductory screen, and then once you first enter you will be given a commentary about the basic game play and the controls you need to use. These are usually a combination of both the keyboard and mouse, though the keyboard figures mostly. There are 8 kitten training programs. Hunt the Ball, Ball of Yarn, Tree Trunk Riding, Running Race, Through Field & Meadow and Balls of Yarn Game, as well as 6 great kitten exercises. Cat Grass, Catch the Kittens, Runaway Kitten, Creepy Crawlies, My Cat Hotel, Jump the River, Through the Flower Bed and The Beetle Invasion. Plus there are several games such as Hide & Seek, Kite Flying, Jungle Adventure, Neighbor's Garden, Cat Picture Hunt, Catch the Ball of Yarn, Seesaw Game and Treats for Kitty.
The treasure chest contains some surprises that you have to earn by playing the games from the other three sections.
Each game has it’s own high score. When you attain a score that is high enough to go on the score board a ribbon appears on the games selection screen over that particular game. You can see what I mean by checking out the screen captures I’ve taken.
I started taking screen captures of each game, but decided to stop once I reach about 40 screen captures. I also considered creating a file for users to download, but the last time I did that, there were only a few downloads. The effort therefore isn’t rally worth it (I apologize to those few who would have found a use for such a file)
The games use a combination of the keyboard and the mouse, though it seemed to me that the keyboard figured far more than the mouse. I’m sure the kids will pick up the different controls though as despite each game having slightly different combinations of keys and mouse usage, there are only certain keys used when you look at the game in it’s entirety.
You can access the game settings from the cog like symbol found in the lower left of the screen. Here you will find sliders to control the voice of the instructress, the music and the sound effects as well as a toggle for switching to windowed mode.

If your computer doesn’t have a graphics card, it may still have a graphics chip on the motherboard, however unless you have a fairly new computer the chip may not support the amount of memory you need. If you aren’t sure you can find out by going top the start menu and clicking on the run command and entering dxdiag (it’s not case sensitive) then click on okay. The DX Diagnostics window will pop up. Click on the Display tab and you should be able to discover what your graphics card or onboard chip supports (look in the device section where it says Approx. total memory)
Conclusion:
Wow, what a lot you get with this game. Despite it obviously being aimed at a specific market, I found some of the games quite entertaining myself. My daughter loved this the first time it was given away and has just decided to play it after seeing it free again; in preference to her favorite game of the moment Toon Town (an online game). It’s different enough from the two other cat games she has (Catz; both on PC and the Nintendo DS plus Splat the Cat for PC) to make it a worthwhile keeper. I think, speaking for my daughter this is worth 9 out of 10, though for an adult it would probably be worth much less, at around 6 out of 10.
The graphics are well done and the in game help is excellent. It’s always available by clicking on the question mark to the bottom right of the playing area and can be turned off immediately by clicking on the Esc key. The only negative thing I can really say about this game and many community members echoed the same thing the last time it was given away is the girl’s voice, which becomes very annoying very quickly.
