   Try turning off or disabling your security software -- depending on what security software you have that may mean booting into Safe Mode with networking -- or try the download from the developers site.

   Disabling firewall and anti-virus protection did not help. I still got the message that the installation failed.

   There's a chance that the trial download from the developers site might still work this morning if you got your key yesterday.

   For future GOTD offers, you can also check the other threads in the forum for hints & tips regarding the different brands of security software, but judging from the posted comments, Safe Mode with networking just about always works.

   Thanks for the pointer. I had received the key the day of the giveaway but the setup.exe told me the giveaway period for the software was over so I guess I'm SOL.
