HDR projects 2 is really a fairly simple software installation -- 1 program folder, 2 folders in Users\ [UserName], & a single, likely DRM-related file in Users\ [UserName]\ AppData\ Local. And nothing at all to justify the old C/C++ runtime installs that go with it, or the 1600 new registry entries in my XP Mode VM.
Tried monitoring it in my win7 VM, where I got about 700,000 new registry entries, & even more deleted! Most of that churn -- I *think* -- was temporary, & would disappear on restart... when that happens I've never been able to find the few new keys I've noted, but there's no way to go through all those to make sure. And yes, I have had that happen in my regular install of 7, not just the VM.
So I tried my win10 64 VM, the good one, just running the program without any installation at all. Seems OK with 67 new registry entries. So back to my regular installation of win7 64, did the same thing, only registered & activated the app. -- about 1500 registry entries & 47 runtime files lighter. :)
