   The content is wrong...

   The screensaver contained inside the zip file is Watermill 3D(Not The Lost Watch) and the activate.exe activates the Lost Watch(Not Watermill 3D) via the registry

   I had to go to the site and download the screensaver there...

   Thanks. I've let the GOTD team know about it. Did running Activate.exe and getting the "Lost Watch" download from the 3PlaneSoft Site work correctly?

   Yes. The lost watch package available through 3dPlanesoft website gets activated succesfully and works flawlessly.

   I was slightly disappointed when I discovered that the Lost Watch was actually the Watermill which I already have (not via GOTD). Thanks for posting the information about the ability to download from 3DPlanesofts site as I would have otherwise missed out on what has become my favorite giveaway.

   The screensaver is actually quite nice, though I prefer the mechanical watch for beauty. It's amazing that we have only had one screensaver repeat so far since the project started over 2 years ago.

   Yeah, your right. It really does look like a real hunters watch. Even the water movement is excellent. I'll certainly be keeping this on in my regular cycle of screensavers. I've kept all of the screensavers given away (though have lost some), but only run a few such as the Dark Castle, Solar System, Earth, Moon, Mechanical Watch, Dinosaurs, Nautilus and The Magic Forest (the kids love the last three). The rest are mainly seasonal ones that I put into the cycle when appropriate.

   I downloaded the zip file from here and the watch from their website...I ran the watch setup from the website and it opened my screensavers window...I clicked on settings, it showed it as unregistered version...then I just used the activate in the un-zipped folder from GOTD...checked my screensaver settings for the watch and it was registered!

   DO NOT run the set up in the zip file from gotd, JUST the Activate.exe

   Hope this helps...lol...more to the point...makes sense!

    I hope you unchecked the boxes create desktop icon and their desktop manager when you installed from their website...
    I ran mine through Firefox which has Download Statusbar installed, of course they always send it to the desktop anyway,lol...
    If it shows in your screensavers as being registered...I would delete the icons, or do what I do when I don't know what to do...lmao....I drag them to my documents folder...

    I have tried to get this to work , but it still won"t use the screensaver. I think I might have setting in the control panel wrong. One of them says show blank screen, is that wrong. Does the screen resolution matter?

    Speaking of this "The Lost Watch", there a couple of freeware screensavers that 3Planesoft gives away as well.

    Lantern:

    I need some help registering this screen-saver. I did everything in the readme and the saver looks awesome, but after a minute of "screen saving" this little green guy pops up and says I need to enter a registration code. Am I missing something?

    Here's a screensaver thread started several months ago. I posted some free screensavers a few weeks ago that are quite good:

    I'll post those two free screensavers over there. I think most of the big screensaver developers give away a few screensavers for example 3Planesoft, Rixane, Astro Gemini and Terminal Studios. all of these developers have contributed to the giveaway project and as such are probably safe to visit. I'll post links to each of them over in the appropriate thread later, if I find they have free screensavers available. :)

    I checked out the big developers. AstroGemini don't indicate the prices of any screensaver, so it was hard to find whether they offered any free. found free ones at both Rixane and Terminal Studios:

    I am running Vista Ultimate x64, so maybe that is the problem with the LOST WATCH? but I don't think it is. If I install WITHOUT the screensaver manager, the screensaver is later not in Vista's list of available screensavers. Installing WITH the screensaver manager, in fact does allow the screensaver to be used, albeit only via the screensaver manager. The real problem is IT IS NOT REALLY A FREE SCREENSAVER. About two minutes after the screensaver engages, it pops up a dialogue box that neither moves nor goes away, to tell you that you are using an unregistered screensaver. This dialogue box takes up about 25% of the screen. And yes, I did activate it. Not much of a screensaver if it intentionally takes up that much of your screen with an unmoving dialogue box, huh.

    rhadagast - it works fine for anyone running 32bit windows. Just had a read around the net - and it is a common problem with the registrations of 3planesoft screensavers not working with 64bit windows.

    In fact - it seems to be a problem with lots of software on 64bit Windows - it doesn't work correctly. Several of my friends decided to run x64 because they assumed it would be better - but have now gone back to 32bit due to multiple programs not working after the "upgrade". It seems either you get used to random programs not working correct - or get 32bit windows.

    BuBBy - The screensaver works great, no problem with that. The issue is the pop-up dialogue box after the screensaver starts, to remind you that it is an unregistered version. It asks you to press the space bar to register, and if you do, it takes your browser to the web site so you can pay for the free screensaver. This is not an x64 issue, it is code written deliberately to put the popup dialogue into the screensaver.

    Well I've just gone through the backlog of comments on the front page and other users also have the same problem - all running Vista x64. Anyone installing to a 32bit Windows - Activation works like a charm.

    Either way - the screensaver (registration) doesn't work for users with x64. Apparently the same screensaver is available for free from http://www.magentic.com/ (I can't promise the magentic version will work on x64 either)

    Just my thoughts: Running x64 is something you really need to need. I've read that even Microsoft executives have ditched running Vista 64 - because of problems with Microsoft Office. There are only a handful of specific uses for 64bit where 32bit just cannot cope - and I'm not aware of very many on the desktop. Most are server related. It remains a personal choice - but for many software developers, doing 64bit versions or fixes is a rock bottom priority until it becomes profitable to take their focus from 32bit and learn & invest resources into 64bit.
