LOL like proofing your spelling for 'gues'?? (guess).. LOL
What kind of puppy? Mine was whining at 5am to go out, so I told her to go lie down.. I should have listened.. when I woke up, there was a bit of yop on the rug!Posted 15 years ago # -

Copmom......see......I told you I needed you.We got a 6 month old Bichon and I've come to the conclusion I am thoroughly out of my mind. Hubby wanted a playmate for Buckley....thought he was bored. He wasn't bored.....he's just growing up, he'll be 5 on the 22nd. Now he has this little pipsqueak invading his space. The people who had her did not work at potty training and I knew darn well that would mean much more work than with a new puppy....UGH! All I can say is that if she were a woman she would definitely be.....um.....of lighter hair color....

DISPOSE
-------------------
BK.. with puppy's we've never had problems. Our 2 just turned 10 last week. But whenever we get one we follow a rule. Take them out the minute they wake, eat, and finish playing. That's when they normally have to go potty, then praise them when they go.. they get the idea pretty quick!Posted 15 years ago # -
withhold
----------------------
Copmom....Oh, yeh, I know......and that's what we've been doing. But you can be out for an hour and she'll come in and "go" inside. She's pretty good about doing pee-pee outside it's the pooping we have the biggest problem with. Of course the almost constant rain is no help. Also, when she does it right we praise her like crazy but I really don't think she "gets" what the praise is for.Posted 15 years ago # -
DISTRIBUTE
----------------------
It will eventually sink in.. in the meantime put down some newspaper! I remember the 2 of us taking turns standing out in the rain with an umbrella and we even bought waterproof ponchos so we could stay out until she did go!!Posted 15 years ago #
