I'm not a moderator but I do find it amusing. I guess they had problems on the comment section?

I am not a moderator anymore.

However I speak English, know some French, Italian, not enough to moderate those forums.

There is a Dutch and two German moderators.

I will start a sticky and pick some moderators.

If you want the gig, then please look at sticky in forums.

Wasn't he administrator? What happened that you're in that position now?
I know...A lot of questions. Just curious.

I have not got a clue to what happened to Bubby.

I cannot have the blocking feature if just a moderator.

So I asked for this feature and became admin also.

After all it is BuBBy and Slava who are the backbone of this GOTD site.

Lee,hey... I'm glad you became an administrator.No offense!

But somehow the names BuBBy and GOTD became closely associated in my opinion.I learned to appreciate him and admire BuBBy for his involvement in this site.So I would hate to see him go.
I'm not as eloquent as you are, but I think you get what I mean.

Amazing, I was the only moderator till BuBBy asked to be a moderator.

Just because I only comment on the odd occasion does not mean I am not trawling through
reams of comments, answering emails, pm's and checking for emails from the kind
people that report an incident.

I blocked 30 people in the past 24 hours.

I removed 60 comments, that were racist, links to warez, pr0n and viagra.

I also would like to mention that Stephen puts in a pile of work so do other members offering their opinions and links to freewares and solutions to our problems.

We are all the backbone, as without you all there would be no GAOTD.

I don't think Robert made a cut to you or anyone else Lee. I think what he means is that BuBBy post's alot so he's a more visible Staff Member. We all know that there are several more working behind the scenes.

I'd like to ask the same question that Robert asked. Is BuBBy still a member of the Staff here?

Thanks to all of the above for clarifying things.. and congrats webmaster on being moderator.. that was pretty quick since you just joined recently! But we do need several since there are so many different time zones.

I'm still here - nothing much has changed - Been very busy (working on another project, studying and replying to PMs). I'm normally reading/moderating batches of comments on the front page when I have an hour or so.

As Lee said - there is often a lot of work that happens behind the scenes that may not show up in the forums as a post from us. I don't always write a response to a question if the problem has been solved or someone else has done a pretty good job at it.

Having some additional moderators in the forum will hopefully at least keep the spammers at bay (yeah I'm dreaming... I know it).

Thanks thewebmaster. Congrats to you as well. I would just like to congradulate everyone on their upgrades. We have to keep these forums clean and hopefully with more mods now they will be a lot better.

Thanks for the post BuBBy and congrats to all the new name mods.

I had an instructor once that was trying to define how man Police Officers to number of people were needed. His opinion was 1 per 500. Can't wait to see if we need an IAD here. ROTFLMAO

The topic is about the mess in the french page of the comments section
Yes it may look funny at first glance, but when you read these every day...like every
one who come every day to know about the Giveaway of today.
The comments on the software of the day are the front page, the french section
look bad, certainly not professional, since a year, it is getting wurst.
The comment are the reference the user need to decide if they download -it or not.
Some don't have a clue , other want to know more.
If I have to read dozen of stupid joke or two page of drawing (rabbit), before having one decent comment and yet another dozen of troll.
The comments are sale representative of Giveaway of the Day and the software offering.
I thing this mater should be consider seriously.
Luna is only the tip of the iceberg, the one who pay the price of this are the on e
coming here every day, the one you see in the forum, the best customers , yes the best customers.
I red complain about the french comments for at least 1 years, in the comments it self and in the forums. I decided to become a moderator for this reason, wrongly thinking the request was for the comments section, my mistake. But in the forum the french is not too much work to do,and it is certainly not reflecting the french front page.
I wish i could do more to help, sadly I can't.

Hi, Col-Hectorz,
I can not judge the French comments site, but I know how the German site is struggling.
Therefore I tried to express my doubts about the usefulness of more moderators ONLY for the forums. The forums are in good shape and are easy to survey. Maybe I should have expressed my doubts more clearly - not so ironical :)
