Hacking Team is what some consider a mercenary company, selling allegedly legal hacks, exploits, mal-ware, 0-days etc. to governments. They got breached, & a huge amount of data was released on the web, which included details on many of their tools, methods, & a number of 0-day exploits -- security holes that the companies writing the software did not know existed. Criminals quickly started using this stuff, so Microsoft & Adobe have been releasing patches to close those holes.
Today Microsoft issued a patch to [further?] plug one of these, so check the Windows update site if you logged on before it was released..

Rook Security also released a utility to help identify if you've been infected by one of the Hacking Team exploits that Rook Security feels are most likely to have been weaponized by cyber criminals since the breech. If interested... Download the Milano: Hacking Team Malware Detection Utility, unzip it, & run the file \Package_1\ RookMilano\ milano.exe -- you may need to run from the Command Prompt as Admin [though I was able to right click the file & select run as admin]. You have the choice of running a quick or a more detailed, slower scan -- I did not detect any changes to Windows in my VM.
