Hi fmisle,
They even had trouble with games on weekends a few weeks back but it doesn't hurt to wish for Friday too!
Ciao

It would be great to have another game free each week. I've always though of Friday as part of the weekend (well almost), so that's a great idea. However, whether it would happen is another matter.

The way I see it is I am happy to get a game when they offer them. Some are better than others.
Wanna help them keep getting the better ones?
Email the developers. Yeah comments are great, but sending directly to the company makes an impact. tell them where you got the software. Tell them you like it, and you are going to tell all your friends. If you have constructive criticism, tell them that too. That's half the reason the software is here. Just be nice about it.
I've sent emails to a few of the developers about the software, and they appreciate it. You would be surprised how many of them are just one or two people making software they like. You may be the difference between great games and abandoned games. Let them know.

I know that I am a newbe at alot of these things eventho I put my own together because alot of the things you guys talk about seem way over my head....but could you please help me out with this I'm not big on shoot'm up games but I do like the connect 3 and word games...thanks for lisening....Abbasgirl

They used to have free games everyday but now it's weekends only and then sometimes it is hit and miss! It must be hard to get developers to give their product away. I suspect they are having problems getting quality games. It just seems like the quality isn't what it used to be. I used to download a lot of games but not anymore. Now the good ones are few and far between. :(

Hi Abbasgirl.
I'll get back to you on your question. Off the top of my head most hidden object games are timed, but I'm sure amongst the ones I've got there's one with an untimed mode; it's just remembering which one? I never have all my games installed (it would take days to install them, lol), so I'll have to search them all out. Please bear with me and check back to see if I've come back with a reply. In the mean time I'm sure there are other hidden object fans that may be able to shed some light on the matter

Okay, the first one I’ve found that isn't timed is called:
Veronica Rivers - Portals to the Unknown
You can download it from Big Fish Games and if you want to buy it you can get it for as little as $7; though you have to use their games manager:
http://www.bigfishgames.com/download-games/4159/veronica-rivers-portals-to-the-unknown/index.html
I haven't got time to check any more at the moment because I've got to sort out Monday's free game yet and catch up on some really overdue Emails. (plus they need to be reinstalled)

Abbasgirl, try some of the other games at Big Fish or similar sites. You can get one hour demos to see if it is what you want. Some of them have a choice you can select in the options menu called "Relaxed Mode" (no time limits). One that I know is this way is Amazing Adventures: Around the World: http://www.bigfishgames.com/download-games/4042/amazing-adventures-around-the-world/index.html.

Another excellent Hidden Objects game that's not timed ( and is beautiful as well) is the second dream chronicles title. Dream Chrronicles 2: The Eternal Maze. I can't find the first one at the moment so can't say whether that is also not timed (It's been ages since I played it).

Campy is right, you could download lots of hidden objects games from Big Fish; they have categorised all the games so it's easy to find them all:

The original Dream Chronicles is not timed. It is somewhat different than many other HO games. You search for objects and use them to solve puzzles to solve a mystery. Usually this involves combining the right objects to work your way through the story. The game can be found here: http://www.bigfishgames.com/download-games/1748/dream-chronicles/index.html

Campy- the link you provided for Dream Chronicles states "Play FREE for 30 minutes OR Full unlimited version 'Buy Now'. If the link is to the right page, then it is timed.

Any chance there are any free downloads as I am on what u could call a very limited bidget...Hey I look for the free game downloads just like everybody else or I wouldn't have hardly any and I would never dish the site because this where I get most of my stuff.

Abbasgirl have you tried these?
http://www.mostfun.com/?siteid=00999400000
Lots of free games, including hidden object games like Ghost Hunters.
Here is a full list of their games. http://www.mostfun.com/GamesByPopularity.aspx
You have to watch an ad at the start of the game, and a few during the games, but never at a crucial time. Some games have more adds than others. But Most Fun has less ads than say iWinn.com which is another ad driven game site. If you become a member of Big Fish they often offer Hidden Object games for a special .99 and send you a code in the email. They usually do this when a new episode of one of their series games comes out. If you don't mind playing one game back from the newest, it is a great way to enlarge your game library.Posted 16 years ago # -
Hi ds5929,
Campy didn't mean that the game was timed with respect to the length of time you can play the game. He/she was referring to the actual game play being timed. abbasgirl asked whether there were any hidden objects games that were not timed with respect to game play, which is what we were trying to answer for her.
Thankfully, more and more commercial games are becoming available for free with this ad run business, and I'm sure as the financial depression hits harder we're going to see lots more free stuff as these distributors (of which there are so many now) will be 'desperately' fighting for our custom. (well, the way I see it anyway) I should try to refrain from buying any more games because quite a few that I've bought over the past several years can now be found free on the internet :)
