recently , on a lot of freeware blogs, I have seen good reviews for FormatFactory:
FormatFactory is a multifunctional media converter that supports:
Video Conversion:
From all formats to MP4/3GP/MPG/AVI/WMV/FLV/SWF.
Audio Conversion:
From all formats to MP3/WMA/MMF/AMR/OGG/M4A/WAV.
Image Conversion:
From all to JPG/BMP/PNG/TIF/ICO/PCX/TGA.
Using FormatFactory you can not only convert between all the various formats but you can also perform certain other functions like reducing multimedia file sizes. This can be done by shortening the video/audio (by changing the duration) or by changing the quality with which you want to encode/convert.

I have been using for a long while the free version of Any Video Converter, and have since then not looked at any converters offered by giveaway team anymore, not because they are not good, but just because I only want simplicity.
my specific question is, has anyone here already tried formatfactory, and would like to share their opinion on it?
I would love to hear from someone who had actually already used it.
thanks!
