Beautifully presented, nevertheless doesn't work well on a wireless keyboard :(
Ah yes, the whole series of tables are brilliant. Though I still prefer the Pinball Arcade tables, all of which are modelled from original pinball tables, whereas the Pinball FX tables are digital simulations and not based on real tables.
You can get a free table from both sets via Steam.
The following is the free table you get with Pinball Arcade.
I can't remember which table you get free with Pinball FX2. Pinball Arcade with all four season packs has a total of 60 tables with more to come in season 5 and Pinball FX2 presently has 50 tables, with a new one to be released soon. The best value for money w.r.t. Pinball Arcade would be seasons 1 and 2 which together account for 40 of the 60 tables. Seasons 3 and 4 only contain 10 tables each. A large proportion of the pinball FX2 tables are purchased individually, but there are also some decent pack purchases.
If you aren't keen on paying full price, both games feature in the main Steam sales. Pinball FX2 was even featured in a previous Humble bundle, where several tables were available for only a few dollars.
Season 5 has been released on Steam, but as yet no tables have been added; however, the final table for Season 4 called F14-Tomcat™ has been released, (a 1987 design by Steve Richie). It will feature the first table with an autosave. You can also see this table in the Pacific Pinball Museum, based in West Alameda near SanFransisco. The link takes you to one of those pages where you can walk around the museum. Click HERE to check out the amazing collection of old and almost new pinball machines. I could see at least six that are featured in the Pinball Arcade just in one room, (Monster Bash, Twilight Zone, F14 Tomcat, Party Zone, champion Pub and Diner). Unfortunately that particular room only allows you to stand at the entrance, but you can zoom in to see most tables apart from three in the top right hand corner of the room, .

Total cost of 57 pinball FX tables are £114.90 ($164.49) i.e. £2 each, whereas you get 70 tables for £114.95 buying Pinball Arcade. i.e. £1.64 each. Though if you only buy the first two seasons you get 40 tables for £45.98, (£1.15 per table). They are 15% cheaper in the US.
When on sale (Christmas and summer sales) you can get both series of pinball games for up to 75% off. Usually the older season packs in Pinball Arcade are cheaper. The latest packs either don't go on sale or only get a minimal 20% off.
The total prices for each game may seem rather high, but when you consider the amout of game play you get for each table, they are actually well worth it, especially compared to other commercially available pinball games such as Dream Pinball 3d, Pinball Dream Deluxe,Hot Pinball thrills, Soccer Pinball Thrills, Slamit Pinball: Big Score, Worms Pinball, Hyperspace Pinball, Pinball Fantasies Deluxe, Pinball Illusions, ProPinball: Big Race, Pro Pinball@ Fantastic Journey, Pro Pinball: Timeshock and Pure Pinball 2 Redux, (all available from either Steam or Good Old Games).
There are other pinball games available, but not so easy to find such as The Ultra Pinball series (3D Ultrapinball: Thrillride, 3d Ultrapinbal: Creep Night )graphics are a little dated now, but this is still one of my all time favorite computer simulated pinball tables) and 3D UltraPinball). Also available on disc are games such as the excellent Adventure Pinball Forgotten Island, with multiple tables linked together, Pinball master 3d and Pro Pinball: The Web (comes free with a copy of Pro Pinball: Fantastic Journey (but not the GOG version). There are many more computer sims available. if you check out the free game Synopsis in the Gamne Discussion sticky section, you'll find a pinball editor that enables you to make your own computer simulations. it's not an asy program to use, but with persistence you can make a decent pinball. Granted, not as beautiful looking as Pinball FX or the majority of the pinball games i mention above. If you visit the editors web site you can download hundreds of custom made tables for free, that were created by the community.
There's an excellent real life arcade over on Alameda Island near SanFransisco called The Pacific Pinball Museum that you can check out online HERE with a virtual room where you can move around look at the various mechanical pinball tables HERE. If you live nearby, the palce is open from 2pm for six hours where you can pla many of the pinball machines for free (though I presume there is an admission price. They have purely mechanical pinball machines as well as computer modelled pinball machines. That's one place I will visit when we take a vactation to SanFransisco. (one of my bucket list wishes)
